Great vet! Really convenient...fast service. A touch pricey but worth it
10 stars would not be enough. Over the years, I think my dog, Maizey, has seen every Doctor at BVH. We have been through stitches, check ups, vaccinations, boarding, illnesses, and cancer surgery. The entire staff, beginning at the front desk, has always been fantastic. They saved her leg when it may have not seemed possible. A year later, she is still going strong. I had researched the cost of cancer treatment and was surprised by how low their quote was. I was even more amazed when my final bill was about 75% of the original quote. This facility saved my best friend.
I scheduled an appointment and admittedly was 10 minutes late.
All the staff and doctors are incredible, kind, and caring. We especially love Dr. Weisgerber. Definitely the place to go for any animal care.
This and the fact that they are expensive finally pushed me to going elsewhere.
I explained that every time I come there that I'm waiting 10 to 15 minutes and that affects my schedule, they took me that they did not care about my schedule. It Also makes appointments just a formality if the vet is not going to keep to them.
My dog was spayed a couple weeks ago at a clinic over an hour away. I work a full time job, 8am-6pm, here in Columbus where I live. When my dog's incision site opened a full inch overnight, I figured I'd go to this place with its great reviews and close proximity to my home on short notice. I called first at 7:30am, and was told a vet tech could look at my dog. I was not told about a $300 "non-client fee" until I arrived, and that a basic exam fee was $75 before any treatment. The receptionist was rude, raised her eyebrows at me when I said I hadn't been told about non-client walk-in fees, and disappeared for several minutes after only saying, "just... hold on." When she came back with a tech, the tech stood three feet from my dog and told me to lift her. I did, and they both told me it'd be no less than $400 to re-stitch up the wound and administer antibiotics in case of infection. The receptionist kept saying "I don't think that's in your finances..." until I felt so uncomfortable and out of place that I stepped out and called my mom to cry and ask what to do. I ended up having to take a whole 4 hours off of work to drive over an hour away to my mom's normal vet clinic in the hopes that I wouldn't have to spend $375 just to be seen. I walked in, explained the situation, and a vet tech immediately helped me. The vet walked into the room bright and cheery, took a look at the incision site and said, "Oh, she'll be fine. It looks like her body rejected a suture and pushed it out, is all." I was relieved, and asked how much for the exam. NO charge. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I don't know why Beechwold's vet tech and receptionist had to make me feel so inadequate and unworthy to be there that I cried. I don't know why they couldn't have just looked at her and told me it wasn't out of the ordinary for this to occur, or that the incision was fine, it would heal on its own. I would have paid the $75 exam fee for them to tell me that, but instead I paid $35 in gas and lost 4 hours of work over this. I will never go to Beechwold vet for any of my pets, and I will definitely advise all of my friends to stay away from these rude shysters.
The vet was not cooperative in trying to get my dog in for a basic check up. The excuse was that after 10 minutes they have to move onto the next appointment.
I DO NOT recommend Beechwood Veterinary.
