Very professional and knows his business. I was diagnosed and treated for a condition that had persisted for months, and would recommend this doctor to any of my friends who needed GI consultation.
RUN!!!!!!. I had an upper GI done about three or four years ago to find out what my problem was. After I got done from the procedure I was put down as the wrong patient and when I got done talking to Dr emlich he stated that something was in my throat, had biopsies taken and they would let me know. I tried numerous times to talk to them and find out what the results were but could not find any. I recently got a new doctor and had him look into it and found out that I have a disease in my throat that they knew about when I had the procedure done by doctor Emlich. So now I get to do it all over again with a new doctor so they can see what the problem is even though I have the diagnosis from doctor Emlich. More time and money wasted. I'm also a volunteer firefighter and I was talking to my battalion chief about my throat and brought up about seeing Dr emlich and he started shaking his head because he said his wife had to see doctor Emlich for her problem she was having and doctor Emlich told her that she was really overweight so when she lost a hundred or so pounds then there might be more of an issue until then she was fine. I would make sure you find somebody else.
RUN AWAY! DO NOT SEE HIM IF YOU CARE ABOUT LIVING! I thought I found the perfect Dr. I was with him ten years! I had been complaining about certain throat issues that caused GI issues. He would only do a colonoscopy (wrong end!), and insisted it was fine. He refered me to the ER when he was not available. I went, they found through one endoscope the answer to my painful issues I had been describing-Barrett's esophagus and silent reflux with liver dumping. I followed up the next Monday and he refused to see me. He sent his MA in, and she actually yelled at me and told me Dr. Emlich was personally angry with me because I took my care to another Dr. Going to the ER-which he sent me to, being admitted, and having a scope by the on call surgeon is not choosing to go to another Dr. One guy found in one test what he couldn't in 10 years. The MA literally kicked me out. He left me without care after a diagnosis of a dangerous condition. Remember, HE sent me to that ER-and the hospital admitte me and told me I had to have the test. I was told if he had listened to me, even 5 years ago, I would not be suffering from this dangerous condition and such high risk for esophageal cancer which has a very high mortality rate. If you have a cardiologist, and you have a heart attack, the Cardiologist at the hospital is not you seeking care with another Dr. I have my full chart, and along with two other patients (with disturbing care issues from him) will be applying for a violoation of 'do no harm' and medical negligence (since he left me without care after my Dx), to the Ohio Board. His office looks like a prison office-disgusting! RUN AWAY, truly if you want real care, RUN AWAY!
"An Awesome, Trusting, Caring professional physician in gastrointestinal testing." Every Columbus Ohio hospital should have him on their medical services.
Any doctor's office that makes a patient wait an HOUR to be seen is absurd. If I showed up an hour late you wouldn't see me, period. Absolutely lacking in professionalism. Not to mention your waiting room looks like a prison facility. This place is a major YIKES.
