I have a lot to say about my experience there, and unfortunately it's about 50/50 good/bad.

-They don't have a "MITTS" system in their office. Translation: if you have medicaid, they have no way of tapping into the county system that tells them about their patients medicaid coverage. They kept telling me I had no coverage, despite financial aid at riverside hospital (who setup the medicaid for me in the first place, and has access to the MITTS system) telling me I do. I have wondered if they thought I was just trying to get out of paying, when in fact it's their fault, not mine, that they could not access accurate information.

-The phlebotomist (can't recall her name, she has short hair and glasses) was the nicest, friendliest person there, she has a great "bedside manner".

I went to them with a lot of hope in my heart that they could finally help me where other doctors had failed me in the past.

The good:

The doctors take their time to find out what the real issues are. The staff members are very friendly and caring.

The bad (from my experience):

- And they wrote a very unprofessional letter to me about me not attending their classes, my medicaid being "messed up" (even though it was NOT), stating they can't help me unless i'm willing to show up to their classes. AND very rudely telling me "they don't give medical advice over the phone" in their letter...despite me never having called for medical advice!

-They also ran tests that other doctors didn't seem to be too keen on doing, like checking hormone levels.

- They demand you take a "class" in order to help you beyond testing. If you don't show up to one of their (free, sometimes $25, depending) "classes", then you don't get the information that will help you. Which is stupid and nothing I've ever seen any other doctor do. Just give me the information at the visit i'm at--don't make me waste my precious time coming back just to learn about something you could have told me at my visit, and given me more information to look up on my own.

At the time, the county had not sent me my medicaid cards due to a snag on their end, but I kept being reassured by the county that I was covered. Just my case, I know, but I really was wholly unimpressed at how they handled my situation.

At this point, I wouldn't recommend going to them unless you have oodles of spare time to waste showing up to their classes.

Dr. Maureen Judson and Dr. Lindsey Rerko are absolutely amazing!! I've been going to FEMM for about 3 years now. I was sick of my periods being messed up all the time. I just wanted to find out why my periods weren't normal anymore when they use to be. I tried going to my regular doctor multiple times and went to multiple obgyns, they all just wanted to prescribe me birth control, they would say that the birth control would "regulate" my periods or that i was young and as i got older it would fix itself (which i knew wasn't true especially since they were normal before) I wanted to know what was wrong, not cover up the symptoms!!!! So i found FEMM, took the classes (3) not long at all, and easy to understand, which are vital in my opinion so you have a deep understanding of all the hormones and the roles they play in your health. FEMM tested my hormones and a few other things and found out what was wrong with me. Finally I had doctors who wanted to help me figure out the issues instead of prescribe me meds to cover up my symptoms!! I found out I wasn't ovulating so i would have never been able to get pregnant. I found out i have PCOS, and my adrenal glands were producing too much testosterone as well. They got me on the right medications and about 2 weeks later I got pregnant!! Me and my fiance were ecstatic it was such a blessing and still is! (we had been trying for a while before i found FEMM). My son was born healthy and i had a healthy pregnancy. I still go to FEMM and i use the "natural method birth control" of tracking my cervical mucus and periods, which is taught in the classes they offer. I trust myself and my knowledge to use the natural method of birth control to prevent pregnancy. I feel in control of my own health now and i was right to listen to my body when i knew something wasn't right. Oher doctors just wanted to give me birth control to "regulate" my periods. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY LADIES!!! I'm so thankful for the FEMM health center and recommend it to SO many women. I recommended it to multiple friends and even the women in my family. My friends and sister in-law love this place as well. They take the time to listen and genuinely care about your health!
