Overall, this library seemed like a good idea but in reality it Is nothing more than an adolescent after-school and weekend hangout. If you do so happen to attend this branch my advice would be, "go before school lets out!"
This library started as a new, innovative idea. I was there for the grand opening; I was excited. My perception of this branch quickly went downhill. The last and final time I was there, I had come during the day to use a study room; I rented it for four hours. When my time ran out the computer would not allow me to rebook. I asked one of the librarians to assist me and she said, "the computer will not allow me to update the room status but I will give you two more hours." I agreed. One hour later she barges into the room and says, " you have to go!"
I replied, "excuse me, you told me that I would have two hours, it's only been one"
I've never had a pleasant experience here. Noisy ambience. Loud adults and loud children everywhere. Rude, angry librarians (probably due to the lost will to live considering they can't control the clientele). Two separate times a security sticker was still on some media I borrowed that they should have removed before shelving. Pretty embarrassing considering it wasn't my mistake. They have only one security box magnet for self checkout, but their library is horrendously busy every time I come in there. So yeah, waiting 5 minutes for a homemaker to check out a stack for her five kids at the community security magnet isn't what I consider library fun.
The library has very limited supply of books. The staff is basically under paid baby sitters for the kids who enter and disrespect the staff and establishment.
I was furious. It was her approach that she used and how she barged into the room, as if I did something wrong. Nevertheless, I gathered my things and moved to the "quiet room". It was everything but that! By this time, school had let out and there was an overwhelming amount of loud, rude kids who had flooded the library. I am a adult student who was trying to study for an exam.
From what I remember about libraries is.....they are supposed to be quiet and a place that one is supposed to be able to go to concentrate, have available resources, and use the facilities without a lot of noisy interruptions.
She says, " someone else needs to use the room and you have to go!"
This library is so awesome because it has a teen area and a kids area and a computer are in it and I go everyday because it's the best library ever
The give away for me should have been when I noticed that this library had two play stations in the "open spaced" teen room. This library usually has adolescent and schol aged kids running all throughout the library, unsupervised children toddlers, people talking loudly on cell phones, amongst other things, too many to name.
Lol i love this library ibgo there most of the times
