Didn't go here for a bike but the attached garden center is simply amazing. Huge selection of plants. I'm pretty sure if it can grow in central Ohio they have it.
This is by far the smallest bike shop in Columbus. But don't let that put you off. It's a good place to go for a good mountain bike on a budget.
I went with my wife and the staff wasn't helpful at all. We asked for various plants and were verbally told where they were and then they weren't there and most of the staff were quite unfriendly about even asking where plants were. Customer service wins patrons. After we left we both agreed it worth the extra 10 min drive to go to Oakland nursery as every time we have gone there they go above and beyond.
Hostile, incredibly rude staff. This is the garden shop nearest my home and I only visit it on the rare occasion that I need something quickly. This place does have a great selection of garden plants and flowers in the spring and summer and has historically been priced more competitively than oakland nursery. Unfortunately, the staff more than ruins that small advantage. Asking for help invariably results in pursed lips and begrudging finger pointing in the general direction that an item "might be if we have it. " The last time I visited I was rushing to get here after work before they closed. I entered the store at exactly 7 minutes before closing time. As I made a hurried beeline to the proper section to pick up the single item I needed, an older woman with dyed red hair who has been despicably rude to me on multiple previous occasions yelled out "excuse me! " When I turned, she stated with a sneer, dripping irritation, and a single hand on her hip, "we close in 7 minutes." I just turned around and walked out. I'll take my business elsewhere.
I love Strader's because of their great nursery selection. This location also has a fantastic bicycle shop. They have good sales on bikes and accessories but they're also super helpful. They do repairs in-house and are very knowledgeable.
