I get home and the laptop isn't even the right one, same brand, completely wrong model. Not sure why I even bother with place anymore, amazon is just as fast and cheap.

Rep told me its a mistake, often happens when a new item goes on sale, the open box price is not updated.

Went here on Black Friday to buy a computer. I was expecting to fight for my life. I was pleasantly surprised by the appropriately staffed store. Big shout out to Hassan B for honest, attentive, and knowledgeable service. Not to mention I got a killer deal. Five gobbles for MC!

She said stores do mark it down 20% based on the current sale price.

Called in ahead of time to figure out why an open box item was priced more expensive than a new item.

I went over the price and did the calculations on the phone with her and she confirmed that would be the price the manager would over-ride to.

This is just a really neat place. Basically a Walmart for computer stuff. I love the different sections of the store. I have bought a laptop from here and from best buy and I feel I got better service and more knowledgeable advice from the micro center by far. I've bought a lot of robot posts from here also and the selection is great. We have also gone the route of buying computer tower parts at micro center and having them build it for us and install the OS. Totally worth the money, and there's nothing quite like wandering around filling a cart with fancy computer parts knowing you don't have to worry about the hassle of fitting them all together.

I sent an email on 12/21/2017 in response to the feedback below. Never received a follow up.

I love this place! Sometimes ill just walk around for hours looking at stuff and it always makes me feel better. Best place in town for anyone with More than a passing interest in computers. Also the staff is always very nice and helpful. I feel like they might get pressured to sell a little to much by management, but that's not their fault.

I placed the order for in-store pickup, told them about my conversation with the associate on the phone day prior. Manager approval needed. The store manager did not seem keen on giving me any discount, reluctantly gave me 10%, didn't even apologize for my trip down there after being promised the original discount. Re-iterated that 20% never happens. Didn't seem customer service friendly at all.

Do not purchase any expensive equipment from Micro Center and WARNING!! Do not purchase the multi-year replacement / accidental damage plans either. Their employees will constantly tell you over and over "If we can't fix it in house we will replace it". Those are lies and a complete misdirection of the real truth. I purchased a Microsoft Surface Book which set me back $2500.00 with the additional 2 year replacement plan that cost $329.99. My device started having severe battery issues only having it a year. It's rated at 16 hours and I am lucky if I can make it 3 hours. This device is my primary system especially when I travel. As a product developer and designer this device is my life. So I went to Micro Center and explained to them my issue and they told me that they would need my device for 2-3 weeks so they can ship it to Microsoft to see if it could be repaired because they can't repair it there. Now any customer would be thinking at this moment "If we can't fix it in house we will replace it". Well that was not the case at all. The store manager tells me you can give us the device for 2-3 weeks or you can work with a defective device. Really?!? What type of solution is this? Then he offers to refund the 2 year replacement plan since it was misrepresented and not sold to me correctly. Now how does this help at all? I have $329.99 back in my bank account but remain with a defective device that cost $2500.00, now that's insulting. This year alone I've spent nearly $12,000 in equipment and replacement plans at Micro Center and the store managers insults me with $329.99 and stands on a position of "it's policy". Well based on your "Policies" I will never make any large and major purchases at Micro Center again. It's best if you are purchasing a Microsoft product to go to the Microsoft Store and request a price match, which the Microsoft Store will do.
